GC Robertson delivered the structural engineering design for the transformation of the former Patrick Stead Hospital in Halesworth, Suffolk - now reimagined as Patrick Stead Row, a collection of luxury homes overlooking the countryside.

Dating back to 1882, the building presented a unique challenge: adapt a historic red-brick structure to meet modern residential standards. GC Robertson provided structural reconfiguration, strengthening works, and tailored foundation design to support the conversion, working closely with the design team to retain the building’s character while ensuring safety and compliance.
